My name is Evan LaPorte and I am a painter living in New Bedford, Ma. I am a subjective painter concerned with formal issues, however I am not concerned with accurate representation. I am focused on honest translation and the creation of images informed by my hand, my history and my observations. GOOD MORNING

After a late night in Cambridge I managed to wake up early. So with a cup of coffee and bagel from greenbean I went out to WEST ISLAND! Beautiful morning, overcast and warm with a steady breeze managed to push the clouds around so the sun could shine here and there. The atmosphere was great. Complicated layers of humidity in the air hung heavily in bands masking the horizon. While lighter darker whiffs moved between them looking more like smoke than fog or clouds.
