My name is Evan LaPorte and I am a painter living in New Bedford, Ma. I am a subjective painter concerned with formal issues, however I am not concerned with accurate representation. I am focused on honest translation and the creation of images informed by my hand, my history and my observations. note to self: look at your daughters drawings more. watch her draw. draw more like her.

ibid: she uses her whole body! both hands, her movement comes from her shoulders. her proportions are equal to her size! she changes gesture, mark making and color with reckless abandon.

I love watching her draw!!!
