My name is Evan LaPorte and I am a painter living in New Bedford, Ma. I am a subjective painter concerned with formal issues, however I am not concerned with accurate representation. I am focused on honest translation and the creation of images informed by my hand, my history and my observations. The artists hand, the history of mark making and the process are my primary focus when creating an image. This page is an opportunity to share my paintings and some of my inspirations.

Better Late Than Never

Last week Kate from Crowells and I went to Tufts Medical in Watertown to hang a show, roughly 30 works on paper and 3 oil paintings. These are all from the last series of Horseneck paintings, many of the goauche pieces have not been hung. This is a great space. The gallery is not open to the public, it's a resource Tufts cultivates for their employees and guests and is curated by Lena Adams.
