My name is Evan LaPorte and I am a painter living in New Bedford, Ma. I am a subjective painter concerned with formal issues, however I am not concerned with accurate representation. I am focused on honest translation and the creation of images informed by my hand, my history and my observations. DEVIL IN THE DETAILS

These are details from the current series of paintings I am working on. These details are from the first drawings in conte and gesso. Consider them the bones of the pieces. The ground work for composition, gesture and mark making. I usually live with these for a while berfore getting in with any color or paint.
